Misquoted Movie Lines
Posted in Entertainment on July 19th, 2009 by Karl JonesDarth Vader owns the No. 1 misquoted movie line.
Poor Darth Vader. It’s bad enough that he lost his wife in childbirth, fought with his son, and embraced the Dark Side of the Force. Now it turns out that we botch his most famous line. Fans mess up The Empire Strikes Back quote—“No, I am your father”—more than any other, according to a recent lovefilm.com survey. (We wrongly say, “Luke, I am your father.”) At least Vader’s in good company. We also misquote cinematic icons like Dirty Harry and Hannibal Lecter, too:
Top Misquoted Movie Lines…
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Wrong: “Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”
Right: “Magic Mirror on the wall…”
Dirty Harry

Silence of the Lambs

The iPhone Re-Visited or Re-Born?
Posted in Apple, Wireless, iPhone on June 24th, 2009 by Karl JonesWell, Apple has done it again by releasing its latest iPhone the iPhone 3G S. Powered by the iPhone OS 3.0 operating system, I guess this is supposed to be closer to what the iPhone was intended to be. I have the iPhone 3G, which has served me very well since I bought it as a Christmas Present for myself last year (also because I get no love from Apple or AT&T towards upgrading to the new one until March 2010). But I was glad to get the OS 3.0 upgrade. I mean, come on… upgrades are fun, right?
I guess it depends on who you ask because many folks seem to be losing patience with AT&T and their foot-dragging when it comes to implementing MMS and tethering. The phone can do it, but AT&T allegedly needs to perform a little magic on each individual account. Oh well… I’ll just have to wait I guess.

Chris Brown: Rihanna’s Cool With It
Posted in Entertainment, Relationships on June 24th, 2009 by Karl JonesAnd it looks as though Chris Brown has copped a plea in his assault case that will keep him from serving any jail time. Naturally he’ll be keeping his distance from Rihanna, or else.
As a legal resident of Virginia, it is there he’ll face hard labor (yeah, right), as well as five years probation for felony assault. The cherry on top is enrolling in a counseling program for domestic violence. A violation of his probation would bring up to four years in prison. I imagine he’ll be able to do it standing on his head.
Big Salaries and CEO’s
Posted in Business, Marketing on March 25th, 2009 by Karl JonesJust one of the many truths in Seth Godin’s The Myth of Big Salaries (It’s All Marketing):
After a million dollars or so in salary, the absolute amount that a person is paid has no real impact on their life. They can’t eat more meals in a day or wear more shoes. What matters to the manager is the relative amount. How much more would I make over there? Why does that company pay its CEO more than my company pays me?
A unique spin on what been spinning for a long time… straight talk about big salaries. And the timing couldn’t be better.

What Are the Features of iPhone 3.0?
Posted in Apple, Wireless on March 16th, 2009 by Karl JonesI guess we’ll learn soon enough… from Web500 :
“Apple will be hosting a media event on March 17, 2009 on the new iPhone 3.0 firmware. There is a lot of speculation on the features of iPhone 3.0 firmware. It was believed that iPhone 3.0 will introduce MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) and Tethering.
MMS would finally offer iPhone users the ability to send photos by way of SMS, and tethering would allow you to share your iPhone’s Internet connection with your laptop computer. MMS is one of the main complains of iPhone users. iPhone users have to rely on e-mails to send MMS messages. Although there are some MMS apps, they are very unreliable. Tethering was confirmed a few months ago by AT&T CEO. The question is how much more the users have to pay for this service.”
